One is the realization that with closings and isolation comes more free time. That free time often comes at the cost of loss of time spent with people I love, but it helps to be able to use that time for something else I love.
Our riverside park is a blessing to many people, including walkers, runners, joggers, bikers, babies in strollers, children playing beside parents, folks enjoying the tables near the river.
Another wonderful blessing is the blossoming of virtual opportunities. I love ZOOM. Facebook live also helps me stay connected.
UPDATE 6/26/22
Life is, again, much busier, thank God. Being able to be with, hug, and enjoy family and friends is wonderful. Being able to be part of daily life of young grandson is such a blessing, such joy
My stacks of books continue to grow, partially read, coming back to, following one interest for awhile, then another. One problem with good books is that they lead you to more authors, more good books, more ideas that MUST be followed. Now it is possible to actually meet in person with good friends and enrich the reading by discussing and learning different perspectives that I never thought of.
ZOOM is still offering me the opportunity to worship with communities that are not available to me at home.
I have finally been able to follow a lifelong dream of learning more about Quaker faith and practice by being able to attend daily Meeting for Worship with the Quaker community at Pendle Hill. The community includes worshipers from across the country and other places in the world.
Their website offers access to a wealth of literature, free lectures, free or fee based study and learning opportunities...
First Unitarian Church of Lynchburg is also a welcoming community of loving people that has allowed me to join their worship virtually. I've been able to worship with them, join discussion groups, book study groups, spiritual search and growth groups...
